You Don't Have to Say

You Don't Have to Say - Alan Beard I found a feeling of 80's decay in the grubby dealing of low-lives and broken dreams. Life is one long succession of disenchantments, punctuated by drugs, booze, fags and fucks. Eminently well written, humorous, but sad, because the world really is like this, because such thoroughly unpleasant people really exist. It is good to be reminded as we sip our Bordeaux and contemplate our truffle soup that outside of our protective bubble, reality permeates.

Liked the references to all the places in Brum. There is not enough of Birmingham in literature.
