Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet

Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet - Mark Lynas Probably the scariest book I have ever read. If you are not familiar with the projections or the issues around rising temperatures, then this book is a bit of an eye-opener and you are in for a shock. The style is very accessible (compared to the ‘international reports’ and scientific papers it is based on!) and while the potential outcomes are horrific you are never left with any feeling that ‘maybe all this stuff is a bit reactionary’. The science in the book looks sound, the arguments well made, and the conclusions modest to what he worst case scenarios could be. The really terrifying part is that it is so easy for us reach these higher global temperatures - e.g. continuing to use energy and resources at current or even mildly reduced levels...
